Okay, so we’re not horrendously popular. But we ARE, however, popular enough to have some presence on the Internet that’s not limited just to cannibalcoalition.com. Which is great for us because it verifies that we actually exist, but also great for YOU because it means that you can see what other people think about us. We promise not to get mad if you say something mean. We’re grown-ups. We can take it.

TV Tropes Page: We’re not going to lie: The Bend is NOT the most original piece of work in the world. Honestly, we don’t care because… well, I think they covered the whole “there’s no new stories to be told” waaaay back in Ecclesiastes. Yes. The Old Testament. Yes. We did our research. Go see just how unoriginal we are, and then spend eight hours doing an archive binge at TV Tropes

Fanfiction.Net Category Who wants to write some fanfiction? We know some of you do! Well, whether you have a short poem about Garrett getting drunk or a Lovecraftian tribute to Ebbordianism, feel free to post it there. We dare you to fill the category with the weirdest things you can think of.

Lee Bradford on Derivative Work:
Lee Bradford would like it to be stated that she will not maim anyone for getting her characters wrong. Official statement: “Honestly, I think that its a badge of honor that someone finds my stuff worthy of fanfiction, and its really interesting to see what people do with my characters. Having read Harry Potter fanfiction, I think its interesting how much people read into a character even if such a thing is unintended. It challenges me to think deeper about my characters, put them in situations that I didn’t think of. And if someone gets the character wrong, it makes me think ‘what did I do to lead this person into thinking that this character would do this,’ and then I can begin to make a more layered character. So I encourage readers to speculate, form opinions, fabricate situations, and share their ideas with other fans (including me). Don’t worry. I won’t sue anyone or get mad.”
